Jason Grueneich

Founder

Born and raised in Bismarck, ND, but spent 18 years in Minneapolis before returning home in 2016. After overcoming struggles with addiction, homelessness, and an HIV diagnosis, I found recovery with the support of my family and the recovery community. In 2023, I founded Shine Bright & Live, North Dakota’s first HIV nonprofit, with the mission to educate, support, and connect those living with HIV throughout the state.

I was born in Minnesota, but have lived in few other states: Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Florida and now North Dakota which has been home for the last 9 years.  I have two boys and two dogs.  I have worked at BSC in Student Finance for over 3 years, and prior to that worked in Financial Aid at United Tribes Technical College.  I have been a Higher Education Professional since 2004. In my spare time I am a soccer, baseball, and basketball mom.  I also mentor other women and try to live a life of service to others as best I can.
